He founded Co-Diagnostics in April 2013 and is the first in his field to use engineering mathematics to design new DNA testing technology. From 2006 to 2008, he was employed by Arcxis Biotechnologies where he developed new diagnostic platforms for groups such as the Department of Homeland Security, the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center, the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease, Sandia National Laboratories, the California Department of Public Health and numerous others. Under fellowship from the Department of Homeland Security, he received his Ph.D. in 2007 in Bioengineering with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and intellectual property law from Arizona State University in a dual-enrollment program with UC Berkeley.
